We class an emergency as a sudden and unforeseen incident in the home which immediately:

  • Poses a health risk to you or a third party or;
  • Creates a risk of loss or damage to the property and/or any of your belongings or;
  • Renders the property uninhabitable.

Home emergency will provide assistance in the event of an emergency situation. Cover will be provided for rapid expert help using a national network of contractors to assist and stabilise the problem. Our Home Emergency cover complements the buildings and contents insurance and provides peace of mind for your customers. Cover is provided for labour, parts and materials to carry out emergency repairs.

Policy benefits:

  • Claims line available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
  • Organise and arrange for emergency repairs up to £1,000
  • Arrange and contribute towards the cost of alternative accommodation if your customer’s home is uninhabitable
  • If your customer has a blocked bath, toilet or problems with external drainage, they are covered even if they have another working toilet or bathing facility
  • We will contribute a maximum of £500 towards the cost of a new boiler if it is beyond economical repair
  • Burst pipes or sudden leakage
  • Break-in or vandalism reported to the police
  • Failure of domestic water mains, gas and electricity
  • Total failure of central heating
  • Leakage caused by a smashed toilet bowl or cistern
  • Pest infestation
  • Leakage caused by a damaged roof following a storm or bad weather

Landlord Home Emergency will provide assistance in the event of an emergency situation. Cover is provided for labour, parts and materials to carry out emergency repairs.

  • £600 paid to cover the call out, labour, parts and materials to carry out an emergency repair
  • Plumbing problems related to leaking pipes, blocked drains or leaking radiators
  • Blockages in toilet waste pipes
  • Electricity complete failure within the property
  • Gas, central heating or boiler failure
  • Animals or insects that are destructive in their natural behaviour or considered pests or nuisances: brown rats, black rats, house mice, field mice, squirrels, wasps’ nests & hornets’ nests only
  • Broken or damaged windows, doors and locks presenting a security risk to the property
  • UK leading insurer
